Fresh Thanksgiving turkeys available at the Co-op

For over a decade, the Regent Market Co-op has offered fresh turkeys for sale in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. The Amish Pride turkeys are sourced through UW Provision, a well-known, local meat distributor who works with local businesses to provide “real meat.”

The turkeys are delivered fresh and kept refrigerated until customers pick them up. A major plus of getting a fresh, unfrozen turkey is that there’s no thaw time! (Frozen turkeys take 24 hours per 4-5 lbs to thaw in the fridge.)

To reserve a bird in the size you want, call the Co-op today at 608-233-4329 or stop by in person. While turkeys can be purchased and picked up in-store through Thanksgiving Day, not all sizes will be in stock (unless you’ve reserved one). Sizes 8 – 20 lbs are currently available — the larger 20-24 lbs turkeys are sold out.

In past years, the Amish Pride turkeys have been $3.99/lb. Due to rising prices all around, the Co-op expects a slightly higher per pound price, but still within that range.

And to round out a FULLY LOCAL FEAST — pick up locally grown potatoes, apples, carrots; baked goods; drinks; and more. The Co-op carries all of these items, sourced from local vendors and farmers. Happy holidays!

The Co-op is open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 AM – 3 PM.
